Clinical Social Workers

Clinical Social Workers are licensed mental health professionals who can help you find solutions to your emotional problems-from daily crises to life’s most difficult situations. In fact, Clinical Social Workers provide more mental health services than any other discipline in the United States. We are trained to work with individuals to pinpoint the life circumstance that contribute to their problems and help them understand which aspects of those problems they may be able to solve or improve. We accomplish this through a unique combination of psychotherapy and active problem-solving assistance.

Licensed Clinical Social Workers (L.C.S.W.) have specialized knowledge, education, and experience in the fields of human relations, psychology, and problem solving.

In order to practice counseling and psychotherapy, all Clinical Social Workers are required to be licensed by the State of Illinois. To be eligible for licensing, they must have a Masters degree from an accredited School of Social Work, a minimum of 3,000 hours of post-masters supervised experience, as well as the passing of a national comprehensive clinical examination. To maintain their license, all clinical social workers must participate in continuing education, as well. In addition, many have advanced clinical training and credentials.
